This page is solely dedicated to some of the tricks and techniques that I use for my graphics and animation which includes some highly recommended reading material. Most of these tutorials are very simple to follow, right down to the very *click* of the mouse. This can be somewhat annoying to seasoned users of these programs, but I wanted to be very clear to all those that wish to learn. All tutorials are on their own printer friendly HTML page and include a document in MS Word 97 format that you can download for off-line viewing. Included with the document will be any example files if necessary. The Recommended Reading section below are some books that are invaluable as my own reference guides to graphics and animation. These books are essential for anyone that is serious about learning 2D/3D graphics and I personally own and have read all of the books in this section. Sometimes I think I spend too much time reading and not applying what was learned. For other on-line help and instruction, please see my Links Page. 3D Studio MAX v3.0 Tutorials Making A Blue Asteroid - This tutorial was inspired by the blue asteroid in the opening credits of DS9. We will use techniques ranging from the Super Spray particle system to the Lens Effects Glow (via Video Post). To view the final result, see the Animations page and view/download the animation (I highly recommend downloading the MPEG version). No additional plugins are required. Photoshop 5.5 Tutorials Creating Fancy Beveled Text - This Photoshop tutorial will show you how the titles of the Graphics By Bogie site were created using the Eye Candy 3.0 plugin. Fading Your Images into the Background - This is an example of using a simple blending technique to blend your pictures in with your web page background. Recommended Reading 3D Studio MAX - In this section we have some highly recommended technical books for MAX as well as a few on character and environmental concepts. Other Readings - This section of technical books focuses on Photoshop 5.5, but also has books for Flash 4, Adobe Premiere 5, and After Effects 4.
